Industrial Engineer - Columbus, NE

IMEG is hiring a Full time Industrial Engineer to join our growing team. Our office is located in St. Marys, OH and the customer this engineer would be working with is located in Lindsay, NE. An ideal candidate must be willing to travel, be a US Citizen, and have reliable transportation.

  • Update existing and develop future plant layouts (AutoCAD)
  • Develop layout for optimized materials staging and delivery to manufacturing operations
  • Develop 2D AutoCAD layout for equipment utility connections including water, air, gas, electric, and communications
  • Develop assembly / manufacturing processes to support new product or existing product improvements
  • Develop plan to improve changeover activities to increase manufacturing throughput
  • Identify methods to ensure standardized work is followed and reduce process variation
  • Work with manufacturing team members to develop continuous improvement initiatives
  • Basic understanding of data collection methods including time study, delay study, and work sampling
  • Time study existing work centers to identify waste and develop action plans for improvement
  • Develop and maintain Quality Documentation including Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA’s), Control Plans, Inspection Sheets, Work Instructions, and Quality Control Visuals
  • Utilize pre-determined time standards to develop process times for new and existing processes
  • Develop work instructions following required process sequence capturing all critical process steps
  • Maximize equipment capacity utilization
  • Develop a roadmap and set priorities to reach goals set for cost improvement, safety, and efficiency
  • Develop Future State Process Map to improve handling of materials and reduction in indirect labor cost
  • Develop Plan for Every Part (PFEP) to optimize inventory storage methods and frequencies
  • Develop Work in Process (WIP) needed to support operation processes and improve material flow
  • Evaluate need and design for improved material handling equipment
  • Utilize simulation software, Simul8, to evaluate and exploit bottlenecks, and verify accuracy of plans for process improvement
  • Implement 5S and workplace organization practices
  • Evaluate customer manufacturing needs and use engineering skillset to address those needs
  • Utilize project Gantt charts to manage daily project schedules for keeping all tasks on schedule and identify potential delays
  • Report progress in professional manor to customer in weekly project review meetings
  • Maintain detailed action register with open items to review with project team for resolution
  • Report weekly progress to management team utilizing weekly progress report
  • Maintain IMEG and customer files according to standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
  • Follow IMEG defined safety practices at both IMEG office and customer locations
  • Utilize IMEG standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to complete project work
  • Understanding of statistical and business improvement tools to apply and sustain business improvement results
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • BA/BS degree in related field
  • Entry Level to 5+ years relevant experience
