OFFICE LAYOUT DEVELOPMENT

PROJECT INCLUDES:

IMEG was hired by a metal processing manufacturer to develop an optimal engineering office layout that would provide for their future staff requirements and improve productivity.  In addition to this scope, a building expansion was also considered.

PROJECT GOAL

Provide seating for current and future staff

Group departments together to improve communication

Provide a large conference room for 30 people

THE PLAN

Document project directives to ensure delivery of the project goal

Develop several office layouts in AutoCAD

Analyze the layouts with a tool to deliver the best layout using a weight system based on key criteria determined by the customer and floor space utilization

THE RESULTS

Created several layouts with various configurations for consideration.

The customer was able to choose an engineering office layout that met all of their criteria with the data to explain why it was the right choice.
