SERVICE AREA:

     • Plant Layout Development

IMEG was hired by a metal processing manufacturer to develop an optimal engineering
office layout that would provide for their future staff requirements and improve
productivity.  In addition to this scope, a building expansion was also considered.

PROJECT GOAL

  • Provide seating for current and future staff​
  • Group departments together to improve communication​
  • Provide a large conference room for 30 people​

THE PLAN

  • Document project directives to ensure delivery of the project goal​
  • Develop several office layouts in AutoCAD ​
  • Analyze the layouts with a tool to deliver the best layout using a weight system based on key criteria determined by the customer and floor space utilization​

THE RESULTS

  • Created several layouts with various configurations for consideration. ​
  • The customer was able to choose an engineering office layout that met all of their criteria with the data to explain why it was the right choice.​
